When Pigs Fly…They Won’t Need to Use the Parkway
We've had Snowy Owls relocating to the Mohawk Valley and Snowy Owls floating on ice floes in our lakes. We've had stray peacocks showing up at downtown residences. We've had runaway cows along Memorial Parkway in Utica. And now...Pigs On the Parkway.
Sounds like a great name for a rock band. But, it's just the latest example of wildlife running amok in our Central New York neighborhoods. The picture comes from pro shutterbug John Matthews, who posted it on his Facebook page.
The sighting occurred along the sidewalk adjacent to the Porkway, uh, Parkway, about halfway between Genesee Street and MVCC, so the natural assumption was that it had escaped from the Utica Zoo. However, not the case; all Zoo pigs present and accounted for.
Last report, the Utica Police Department had taken the itinerant pig into custody. Direct any questions to them at 315-735-3301.
