4 Things You Have to Do in the Adirondacks Before Summer is Over
Summer isn't over just yet. Before you let the last few weeks of the best time of the year slip by, maybe a trip to the Adirondacks is in order?
There's SO much to do in the Adirondacks, there's no doubt about that. And no matter what time of the year you go, you're sure to have a blast. But as summer starts winding down, there are a few things you should make time for in the mountains, before you have to wait another year.
Spend Some Time on the Water - There's nothing better than being on the water in the Adirondacks. Whether you decide to head way up north to the Tupper Lake area, or if you just want to go for a quick day trip to the Old Forge area, you'll definitely find the perfect lake (or river) for your outting. Then you have to decide whether you want to kayak, canoe, or take the boat out. Whatever you do decide, as long as you spend some time on the water, you're set.
Make S'mores - Nothing says summer in the Adirondacks like making s'mores. Bring back those memories and enjoy this childhood treat. Seriously, when's the last time you made a s'more over a campfire? If it's been a while, this summer is the perfect time to do it.
Get In an Outdoor Game - Before it gets dark too early, you have to get in an "outdoor game." Have a KanJam tournament with the family, or maybe a few rounds of ladder golf or corn hole. You can even get a ball out and just play catch. Summer is too short and you don't want to wait until next year to enjoy the outdoors (at least, without a coat on).
Hike a Trail - The Adirondacks are just overflowing with interesting and beautiful trails. Some will lead you to waterfalls, others will take you to an overlook point with a fantastic view. Even if you haven't hiked before, there are beginner trails that won't be too overwhelming. And if you're an expert, you'll be able to find a trail that's the perfect challenge. Either way, there are plenty of options and it's definitely something you'll want to do before the summer ends.
No matter what you decide to do, we hope you get a chance to enjoy this last little bit of summer. Our winters can be so cold and feel like they last forever, we have to soak up as much of summer as we possibly can.
