First Significant Lake Effect Snow of the Season Tonight
The National Weather Service in Binghamton has forecast the first significant Lake Effect snowstorm of the season tonight, Thursday, into Friday morning.
Southern Oneida, Herkimer and Lewis counties are under a Lake Effect snow advisory while Northern Oneida and Oswego counties will face a Lake Effect Snow warning.
The areas under the advisory such as Utica, Rome, Little Falls and Lowville c0uld see 3 to 7 inches of snow including heavy bursts of snow. The advisory is in effect from 3PM this afternoon until 11AM Friday.
In the warned areas, including Boonville, could see 4 to 8 inches of heavy snow.
