Review in Little Falls: Have You Ever Been to the ‘Copper Moose?’
If you're up for a different place for dinner or a few drinks, we think you should make your way to Little Falls and stop by the Copper Moose Ale House.
After living in Central New York for more than two years, I finally got the opportunity to check out this restaurant in Little Falls that people have been telling me about since... Well, probably since the first or second week I was in the area.
Have you been to the Copper Moose before? If you haven't, I suggest you add this place to your dining out options. Yes, if you live in New Hartford or the Utica area it may seem like too much of a drive to Little Falls just for something to eat, but it's worth the drive, and you'll be happy you tried them. And if you live in Herkimer, Frankfort, or anywhere else in the Valley, you don't really have an excuse, so again, you should definitely check this place out.
Luke and I decided to head there Saturday night and see what everyone was talking about. It's safe to say, we were definitely NOT disappointed. The food was superb, the service was more than great, and the atmosphere was so fun and laid back.
We decided to start with some appetizers because why not? If you're going out for the experience and not just for a meal, you should make the most out of it. We had these "Cowboy Corn Bites" which were loaded with cheese, corn, bacon, jalapenos, and fried to perfection in a delicious breading. We also decided to get an order of their fried pickles (because more fried food), and they were great. Definitely some of the best fried pickles I ever had.
When it came to our actual meal, it took a long time to decide. Seriously, I don't think I've ever looked at a menu for so long... Everything just sounded SO good. The roast beef with bacon and cheese sounded outstanding, but so did their "Jerk Pasta," and all their sandwiches and wraps as well. I finally decided on a burger (and then took forever deciding if I wanted to "create my own" or have one of their creations). The "Bavarian Pretzel Burger" ended up winning. This flavorful burger came loaded with beer cheese, caramelized onions, smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, and ground mustard, and it was exquisite.
Even if you're not in the Little Falls area, we suggest to give this place a try, you'll definitely enjoy it. We do warn you though, you may want to call ahead and make reservations. Sometimes it gets so packed in there, you won't be able to get in. But you can always make a reservation and be all set.
The Copper Moose is located at 518 E. Main Street in Little Falls. They're open Monday - Thursday from 4pm - 10pm, and Friday and Saturday from 4pm - 11pm.
