Today Is National Peanut Butter And Jelly Day

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a staple for American kids, which probably explains why we have a day honoring this iconic sandwich.  By the way, March 1st was National Peanut Butter Lover's Day.  It's been years since I've had a PB&J sandwich.  I always favored Peter Pan Crunch Peanut Butter but smooth peanut butter is by far the most popular.  The most popular brands are Peter Pan, Jiff and Skippy.  The average kid will eat 1500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before graduating from high school.  This $800 million dollar industry has been around since the 1900s and the average American eats about 3.36 pounds of peanut butter every year.   If you're trying to lose weight, peanut butter is a good choice because it can help curb hunger.  Just one more reason to enjoy a peanut butter and jelly sandwich today!
