Utica’s Old Main Opens for Rare Public Tour August 25 with Landmarks Society of Greater Utica

There are few buildings more iconic and more forbidden in Utica than Old Main, the gated-off main building of the Utica Psychiatric Center. And for one exceptionally rare evening, the building opened to the public.

The Landmarks Society of Greater Utica will host a tour of Old Main on Monday August 25, 2014 as part of their Summer Walks and Talks, a remnant of the former Utica Monday Night series.

Old Main, a National Historic Landmark, will be open beginning at 5 that evening. The tour is free but the Landmarks Society is asking for a $5 donation for their preservation efforts.

Parking will be available on the grounds of the Utica Psych Center off of York Street.
