The Great New York State Fair, the premier destination for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers will run from Aug. 22 through Sept. 2nd 2013 and we are just a few months away from the gates opening. If your a concessionaire, exhibitor or just a fairgoer now is the time to apply to have your RV or camper there during the entire twelve day event.

It's time for 'Fright Nights at the Fair! Don't miss out on one of the largest Halloween attractions in Central New York. Good news, it will open for the season this weekend at the New York State Fairgrounds. Plan on getting spooked in the Fair's Beef Cattle Barn and surrounding areas from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and from 7 to 11 p.m. on Sundays.

State Fairs, are of course, known for junk food - everything is fried and on a stick, or served with a doughnut as a bun.  Can you find anything healthy to eat at the state fair?  Surprisingly, yes - and they're some of the most economical choices at the fair as well.

Drive through the Syracuse area during the twelve day run of the New York State Fair and you may notice something odd - a stoplight on Interstate 690.  The traffic on the expressway is stopped often during the fair to allow egress to the highway from the parking lots.  Have you ever wondered how rare stoplights are on the Interstate Highway System? Exceptionally rare.

Over the summer the New York State Fair has released their list of the free concerts that will take place every day at the fair.  We've told you about a lot of them and here they are all in one place.

We've been keeping you up to date on the details of this year Great New York State Fair and this morning, the chairman himself, Dan O'Hara, stopped in to add to the excitement. When Mark and Dan chatted this morning, they couldn't help but focus on the great music you'll experience, FREE, during the Chevy Court Concert Series.

When you go to The New York State Fair you'll enjoy two different acts performing each day at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Chevy Court and, they are FREE with Fair admission. Here is some exciting news, Country music group The Band Perry will perform Sunday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. as part of the 2012 Chevy Court Concert Series!

Just wait until you see and feel these beasts. Monster trucks feature four massive wheels that crush, smash and rip through everything. The Great New York State Fair has announced an all new event at the State Fair Grandstand, The Monster Truck Mix-Up, it's coming to the NY State Fair on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 6:30!

Who doesn't love to watch cars crunch, bump and slam each other until only one vehicle remains moving. It's going to happen during the popular Double Figure 8 event, the Demolition Derby, coming to the Great NY State Fair on Labor Day September 3rd.

The Great New York State Fair has announced that four more performers will be a part of this year's 24-performer lineup on Chevy Court. Two different acts will perform each day at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. All shows at Chevy Court are free with Fair admission.
