It's a busy weekend in Central New York. We found the Top 10 events we think you should make time for.

No matter what time of the year it is, weekends are pretty packed in our area. This weekend is no exception to that rule. From celebrations to history reenactments, car shows and more, there is a LOT going on this weekend. We found a variety of events and activities that are perfect if you're looking for something to do.

    The Herkimer County Fair

    Now through Sun. August 20

    PRICE: Adults $10, Children (5-12) $3, Children under 5 Free
    Carnival rides, delicious fair food, a variety of attractions, demonstrations, and shows, there's something for everyone at the Herkimer County Fair. Big events include the demolition derby on Friday, a talent show on Saturday, and live music from groups like "Swamp Drivers" and "The Beadle Brothers."

    Utica Observer Dispatch 200th Birthday Bash

    Sat. August 19: 11a - 3p

    PRICE: Free
    The event has been rescheduled after the threat of severe weather last weekend, and the party will be happening this Saturday. There will be music from Showtime, a hot dog eating contest, and Saranac favorites to enjoy. You'll want to get there early too, the first 600 attendees will get a mini half moon from Holland Farms.

    Saranac Jams: Taking Back Sunday

    Fri. August 18

    PRICE: $26 in advance, $30 day of the show
    Rock group "Taking Back Sunday" will be performing at the brewery as part of the Saranac Jams Summer Concert Series. Special guests "Every Time I Die" and "All Get Out" will also be performing. Doors open at 6:30p with the show starting at 7:30p.

    Polish Days in Utica

    Sun. August 20: 1p - 7p

    PRICE: $5 for non-members, members and children get in free
    This event is perfect for the whole family. There will be basket raffles and contests, dancing, even a Pierogi eating contest at 3p. Plus, you'll get to enjoy all your favorite polish foods.

    American Revolution Weekend at Fort Stanwix

    Sat. and Sun. August 19 and 20

    PRICE: Free
    This weekend, you'll get to explore the history of the "Siege of Fort Stanwix." They'll have colonial music, and muskets and cannons will be fired. It's a weekend that will open up the story of those who fought here.

    Franklin Square Film Series: Wall-E

    Sat. August 19: 8p - 11p

    PRICE: Free
    See the movie "Wall-E" under the stars at the Franklin Square Alley. It's a unique way to see a great family film. If you do head out, make sure you bring a lawn chair so you're comfy and a few bucks for snacks from Bite Bakery and Cafe.

    Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' at the Utica Zoo

    Sat. August 19: 2p - 4pm

    PRICE: Free with admission into the zoo (adults $8, children 3-12 $4.75, children under 3 free)
    See one of Shakespeare's great works "The Tempest," while enjoying a fun-filled trip to the zoo. The LiFT Theater Company is putting on this fantastic performance at no cost (although, donations are excepted).

    Clark Mills Firemens Summer Bash

    PRICE: Free
    Have a wonderful afternoon out with the family, all while supporting volunteer firemen. There will be bounce houses for the kids, raffles, beverages (including those for the adults), lots of food like pizza, hamburgers, salt potatoes, and fried dough, and tons of other goodies and fun. "The Bomb" will also be performing.

    The Blueberry Jam: A Critz Farms Summer Celebration

    PRICE: $10 in advance, $15 at the door
    If you love blueberries then Critz Farms is where you'll want to be on Saturday. Enjoy live music all throughout the day, blueberry picking, a corn maze, activities for the kids, and tons more. There will also be adult beverages and other goodies available.
