Calling All Potential ‘Snoozeterns’ in Central New York

A Houston-based mattress company with many New York state outlets just a short ride away from Central New York, including Saratoga Springs and the Capital District, is offering a great internship opportunity for just the right combination of go-getter and slacker.

From Mattress Firm's website: "Pursuing a degree in catching Z's? Would you rather carry a pillowcase instead of a briefcase? This Fall, you can snag the internship of your dreams as Mattress Firm's first 'Snoozetern.'"

Carl, our former Beth & Dave intern-turned-part-time employee, is thinking about applying for the job with Mattress Firm. He'll need to offer proof of his love of sleeping and provide a video to accompany his application. We suggest that he adds one of those Ebeneezer Scrooge sleeping caps that the Dickens character made famous while he was confronting ghosts.

"If your greatest skills include sleeping in," it reads, "constant napping and a passion for a good night's rest, we have the internship for you."

Applicants need to be at least 18 and "proficient in napping, regardless of time of day...interested in exposure to different surfaces, textures and sleep positions, and...passionate about sleep and comfort."

The top three candidates will have their video presentations voted upon on the Mattress Firm Instagram page. Here's the whole rundown on the company's website, where the deadline is July 23rd. So, don't sleep on it...get crackin'.
