CNY Town Asks Trick-or-Treaters Not To Dress As Clowns

With all the sightings of creepy clowns in the region, one Central New York town is asking kids to avoid the clown costumes this Halloween.   The Village of Phoenix Police Department has made that request.  Phoenix is located north west of Syracuse.

There have been many calls to upstate police departments reporting people dressed as "creepy" clowns.  According to The Post Standard, the Phoenix PD's Facebook page says that high school kids and adults have expressed their fears over the clown controversy.  "There are bad people who will use this to their advantage to try and hurt people." is a quote from their Facebook page.

Other Upstate New York police departments, including Syracuse, Binghamton and Saratoga Springs have also reported creepy clown calls.
