‘Munchies with Matt’ Episode 1: Today He Eats Vegemite From Australia
Winters in Central New York seem to drag on forever; that's why I'm inviting you on a virtual escape to a warmer place. Today we're going to Australia.
Australia's the land of fuzzy Koala bears and hoppy kangaroos. Part of me thinks I should be part of Aussie heritage due to my sarcastic, and self-deprecating sense of humor. Many, if not all "mates" in Australia, have a dry, quirky wit.
I've never been to the land down under but I've always wanted to try Vegemite. Vegemite is an Australian sandwich spread that's equivalent to America's peanut butter and jelly. You may have first learned of this dark brown food paste in Men at Work's popular song "Down Under," from 1982. Vegemite is made from leftover Brewers yeast extract and various spice and vegetable additives.
