MDA is locking up people right in our community, including Townsquare Media's own Andy Cash. Luckily, he's getting 'locked up' for a good reason, and for a great cause.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (or MDA) may not be as well known as the American Cancer Society, or even the Diabetes Association, but that doesn't mean it's any less of a worthy cause.

When I found out one of my own co-workers - Andy Cash, was participating in the MDA's 'Lock Up,' I almost cried (Seriously). You see, the MDA has always played a huge role in my life, and it will forever pull at my heartstrings. My two brothers unfortunately lost their battle with Muscular Dystrophy years back. Since then, I have always been passionate about their cause. Especially when they're raising money to send children to their camp (my brothers went every year, and it was really the most fun they ever got to have).

Andy will be a 'Jailbird,' and he's raising money to get out of jail. Tomorrow (Wednesday, November 18), he will be 'Locked Up' for an hour, as he tries to raise money to send children with Muscular Dystrophy to camp. It cost about $800 to send one child to camp (as they go for the week, get a complete camp experience, and with no money asked of the families with disabled children).

Andy Cash has already started his campaign to raise money. If you would like to help, or if you want information on what Andy is up to, click here.
