The World Championship of Kan Jam is back. Whether you're a highly-competitive person and want to take home the title, or you just love the game and want to play with other enthusiasts, you'll want to mark this event on your calendar.

Alright, so if you're serious about this event and would like to be a part of it, you'll have to do a little driving. But hey, that will make it all the better if you're named "World Champion of Kan Jam," right?! Don't worry, we're not talking about driving down to New York City or having to leave the state, but you'll have to make your way to North Tonawanda (on the western side of the state).

The event happens on Saturday, August 12th and goes from 9am to 6pm. You'll want to register your team ahead of time however. According to The Kan Jam World Championship's Event Page on Facebook, the deadline is Monday, July 31st (or once 120 teams have signed up). Cost is $60 per team, but that money is going to some great causes including The Food Bank of WNY and the North Tonawanda Police Athletic League, among a handful of others. To register a team visit: KanJamLeague.com/worldchampionship/2017

Your registration fee includes a fun-filled day of Kan Jam, as well as helping out the many charities that are involved in this event. But you'll also get a T-shirt, tickets for food and drinks, a Kan Jam disc, and of course the chance to be crowned the winners. Winners, runner-up, third and fourth place will all receive special prize packages as well, with tons of Kan Jam (and other) goodies.

So if some of your friends brag that they're the best at Kan Jam or if you yourself have spoken that phrase, now is the time to prove it. Join Kan Jam lovers from all over as they compete and have a blast playing this favorite New York backyard game. And if you do sign up, good luck out there.
